Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:1-3
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.’’ Matthew 6:21 (KJV)
The heart of the natural man is self centred and insatiable. But the heart of the transformed man is for God and lives daily to satisfy Him.
From our text above, you can tell where the heart of David was (v.2). He was not comfortable living in a glamorous house while God’s house was shifty and far less glorious. Though David did not eventually build the temple, he made significant provision for it and charged his son, Solomon, to execute the work (1 Chron. 22:14-16). As a child of God who has been blessed, what is that need of the church that God is prompting your heart to meet? Is there a ministry you can support? Nothing you do for God is too big or too small as long as it matches your ability and capacity? Where does your heart lie for the church, the body of Christ? Let your heart be focused on pleasing God using every blessing or treasure he has given you. Remember, your heart will always lie where your treasure is. So commit to laying your treasure with God and you can be rest assured that you will never lose it. Take a step today and find out where you can meet a need and the God that knows how to give good gifts will bless you immensely.
PRAYER:
Lord, give me a heart that is quick to reach out to meeting the need of the body of Christ in Jesus name, Amen.
FAITH BYTE:
My needs are met as I give to God selflessly and wholeheartedly.
