Scripture: Luke 5:1-10
“In all thy way acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
With God, there is always an abundance of opportunities; but sometimes, we can be so pre-occupied with the issues around us that we overlook them and then, fail to explore.
Washing of nets is the last thing fishermen do before they pack up and head home but Simon and his fellow fishermen were washing their nets too early. When they had fished all night and caught nohing Jesus asked them to let down their net for a catch. For a moment, they could not recognize the opportunity that God had given them (v.4).Nothing matters more than recognizing and walking in God’s will, for therein lies every opportunity we could ever need in life. The question is: are you willing and obedient? It is in obedience that the blessing lies (Isa 1:19). It may not be convenient or pleasant; but trust in the Lord and obey His command and you will reap abundant harvest out of every opportunity. When Simon recognized the opportunity he had and used it, he and his fellow fishermen got an overwhelming catch (v7)
Do not allow discouragement to overshadow you. Delight in the Lord your God because He is always willing to bless you. Know that He is in control. He delights in every detail of your life. God will address even the smallest concern you may have; but you must surrender your will to Him and be obedient to His will and He will open your eyes to see the opportunities around you.
PRAYER:
Lord, open my eyes to see the opportunities which you have given me in Jesus name, Amen.
FAITH BYTE:
I experience all-round abundance as I recognize and utilize all the opportunities that God has made available to me.
