Scripture: Titus 1:10-16
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft….” 1 Samuel 15:23a (KJV)
No matter who you are or what you are doing in life, there will always be people who will oppose you. Even in the church of God, there will always be those who will rebel against the church leadership. These people are usually quick to point out what cannot be done or how things should be done even when they will not lift a finger to act. Their interest is in themselves and not the church or its vision. These are the people who must be silenced.
Rebellion is a sin (1 Sam. 15:23) and if allowed to fester, will breed dissension in the house of God. This is why God dealt with rebellion among the Israelites quickly and the judgement of death was passed on the rebellious (Num. 16). God can do nothing with someone who is rebellious. Are you living in rebellion against God? Is your first reaction to any instruction from the pulpit ‘NO’? Can you be trusted with responsibility without turning the people against the leadership? God expects us to obey the leaders he has set over us. You may not always agree with them, and they may not always be right, but respect and obey them by virtue of their office. Pray for them, and resist anyone who wants to sow the seed of rebellion in you.
PRAYER:
Lord, forgive me for any sin of rebellion; help me to stay true to your leading and servants always in Jesus name, Amen.
FAITH BYTE:
I resist the seed of rebellion. I prepare my heart to follow God.
