WORTHY IS HE

Scripture: Revelation 5:1-10

“...You are worthy...because you
were slain, and with your blood you
purchased for God persons from every
tribe and language and people and nation.”
Revelation 5:9 (NIV)

Genesis recounts the effort God put into creating the world. It highlights the creativity and sovereignty of the one who upholds the earth. He made all things perfect for our enjoyment but man fell due to sin.

Our text tells the anguish of the writer who could not find anyone worthy to open the seals of the book (v3-4). Someone, however, comes to the rescue (v5-6).
God, who is all powerful, manifested himself in the form of man on earth to die to save mankind from the consequences of sin. Jesus, the Lamb of God was slain to defeat death, to redeem and reconcile mankind to his creator (v9). He took the keys of death and at the mention of His name, every impossibility bows.

The scripture reminds us that worthy is the Lamb that was slain (v9). He is worthy because he has gone before you and is committed to you. He knows the beginning and end of any matter so He will never forsake or abandon you. He knows every nook and cranny of the universe; He knows every bump and curve in the road you travel because he has already traveled it. There is no pain you face that God does not understand because he has already lived it. Who else is worthy to put your trust in?
Who else is worthy to help shape, write and change your story? Allow the One who is worthy to take charge of your life today so you can reign on earth.

PRAYER: Lord, help my unbelief. May my trust be on you, the only one who is worthy to turn things around in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I give all the praise to the Lord, the Worthy One who sits on the throne and reigns forever.
