AN INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

Scripture: Matthew 2:1-11

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift”
2 Corinthians 9:15 (NIV)

During Christmas people worry about what to give to friends and family members. They scurry around shops in a bid to find the most suitable gift to mark the celebrations.

The wise men from the East bestowed the most valuable gifts anyone could bestow upon a baby.Yet their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh diminish in the face of God’s gift of His Son to mankind.
The NLT translation calls Jesus ‘a gift too wonderful for words’ (2 Corinthians 9:15). God’s gift to us is a summation of what he feels for us and how important we are to him (John 3:16; Jeremiah 31:3). God has a love so deep and pure for us, nothing can come between us and his desire for us (Romans 8:38-39).

How will you respond to God’s gift to you today? Share him with others. Give others the opportunity to experience the same joy that comes from knowing Jesus. There is no better gift you can offer to a soul in need of hope and redemption. Jesus is the only gift that fits every bill and situation. When you share Jesus with others, you give them a saviour, a friend and everything else they could possibly need in life.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: Leadership/Communion Service tomorrow, 5:30PM

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ that reconciled us to you in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE; I will not hoard God’s gift to me. I make it a mission to wholeheartedly share him with others.
