Scripture: JOHN 15:1-8
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (KJV)
Everything on earth, whether spiritual or physical, has a source. This source gives it life and productivity. Therefore, for anything to prosper, it must remain connected to its source. To create fishes God spoke to the seas, fishes have to be connected to water to prosper. God spoke to the earth to make animals and the earth is the source of their sustenance. When God made man he spoke to himself, and man must remain connected to God to prosper.
In our text,Jesus Christ likens himself to a vine. As the vine, he provides the nourishment and sustenance we need as believers to bear fruit. Just as plants need to be deeply rooted to their source to receive nutrients to grow and remain healthy, we must stay connected to his voice and leading so we can operate at maximum capacity.
God commands us to be fruitful in every area of our lives (Gen. 1:28a). You can only produce fruit through the enablement of Christ. You must stay connected, listen and obey his leading so you can operate at maximum capacity. One way to stay connected is to be rooted and grounded in a local church. As you practise and live by the principles of the word and use your talent in service for the kingdom, you will become connected to the source that assures your fruitfulness.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to stay connected to you in all circumstances in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE
I bear fruits daily because I am connected to the True Vine; Jesus Christ.
