Scripture: John 15:1-3
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John:15:2 (KJV)
This scripture often draws a parallel relationship between divinity and man. God is the head of the trinity which includes Jesus Christ, who in turn is the head of the church; we are the church. Thus, Jesus is our head. He uses an analogy in our text here calling himself ‘the vine’ and believers ‘the branches’.
The picture here is that of spiritual collaboration between the Trinity and believers. Our destines are tied to the ways and acts of the Trinity and without collaboration with heaven we can achieve nothing. But it is important that we determine our roles in the body that are in sync with the sonship responsibilities of Jesus and pursue those roles. Only then will the love of God kick in. We will bear fruits naturally,if we stay connected to Jesus.
As a believer, are you aware of all that God expects from you at this stage of your faith? Are you up to speed with the call of God upon your life? Today is not too late for you to place your hand on the plough. Do not be like the unfruitful servant (Matt. 25:24-28).
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to stay connected to Jesus and be fruitful in kingdom business in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE:
I remain a fruitful branch of the True vine - Jesus Christ.
