Scripture: JOHN 15:18-21
“But the Jews incited the devout women of prominence and the leading men of the city, instigated a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.’’ Acts 13:50 (NASB)
Over the years, the gospel has faced different kinds of oppositions and challenges. Jesus prepared the minds of his disciples, so when the persecutions started, they would not be surprised and it would not stop the gospel from advancing.
Today, we have the advantage of having a large number of predecessors who have blazed the trail before us. They set the path that we are to follow. There is no challenge that we face today, as believers, that they did not face. There will always be a battle between light and darkness (Gen. 3:15). But because we walk in the light, the darkness of this world cannot comprehend our actions and we will prevail just like the Apostles did. Refuse to be discouraged by criticism or persecution, but stand on God’s word for victory.
Jesus has already assured victory for us. No matter what happens, we must continue to carry on the assignment that God has given to us. We must continue to reach and teach as many as we can. We must affect lives positively so we can depopulate the kingdom of darkness. If we continue without wavering then the gates of hell will never prevail against us.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to remain focused in the face of persecution in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE
I am victorious in Christ Jesus because I walk in the strength of God.
