Scripture: JOHN 15:7-8
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit.’’ Matthew 28:19 (NJKV).
Avine is a climbing plant that produces grapes. Jesus said he is the true vine, we are the branches and God is the husbandman or gardener. In reality, the branches take their nutrient from the main plant and the farmer ensures that everything is made available for the plant to guarantee it’s well-being.
Jesus speaks through his word today telling every believer to abide in him so as to bear fruit. That is to say that every branch must be attached to the plant or tree to be able to bear fruit. Your capacity to reproduce others like yourself who confess to the lordship of Jesus is dependent on how connected you are to the source.
A disciple must have proof of bringing others to the fold of Christ. He must bear fruits that endure. Dwelling in the Lord’s presence, through discipleship, activates a direct connection whereby whatever we ask for are granted. Your responsibility as a Christian is to populate the house of God and you cannot do that if you are not connected to Christ. Abide in him and let him abide in you so that you can fulfil that which you have been called to do. Fellowshipping with the brethren, studying the word and living a holy life are some of the ways that you can create a hospitable environment for Christ to dwell in you.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to stay rooted in you in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE:
I am rooted in Christ and I bear fruits abundantly.
