PERFECT TIMING

Scripture: Psalm 40:1-5

“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me
and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1 (NLT)

Patience is one of the hardest virtues to acquire. We pray to an omnipotent God. We know He is able to help us at any moment. We know he is not reluctant to help us. If he is all of these, why then is there a delay when we ask him to intervene?

God did not include a timetable when he gave us his promise.
He,however, promises he will not be late when he said he will answer us speedily. But in our impatience, we want an answer now. We have needs, and we do not understand why those needs are sometimes prolonged. God has His reasons. Perhaps, our needs are being prolonged because they are accomplishing something in us that nothing else will. Perhaps He is teaching us about prayer or he is perfecting our faith. Maybe he is even letting us identify with Jesus in His sufferings- it is, after all, his ultimate purpose to conform us to the image of Christ. How can we be conformed if we do not identify with his pains?

Sometimes, the delay we experience, is God furthering His work in our own lives or in another area. Sometimes, he gives us no reason at all. The believer’s wise response, in this case should be total surrender. Rather than fret and complain about how long you have waited. Take comfort in knowing that you serve a God that has your plans all mapped out and he is never wrong. Rejoice in the assurance that as long as you walk in his will for you, his timing is always perfect.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: MAP Meeting (Home Fellowship) tomorrow

PRAYER: Lord, help me to learn to be patient in waiting no matter how long the answer takes in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am patient with the process God is taking me through because I know all things are working for my good.
