THE DIVINE DIRECTOR

Scripture: 1 Kings 17:7-16

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

Today, there are so many advanced technologies to give you directions when you need to get anywhere. They can give directions but cannot guarantee safety. God does not only give us directions to follow, he also guarantees our safety.
When the brook that sustained Elijah dried up, God directed him to a widow in Zarephath who cared for him. God had divinely prepared a place for Elijah even before the brook dried up.

God has a road map for his children. He knows exactly where to take you. He knows the minute details of your life and he has the blueprint for your whole life. You do not have to ask him to put a new plan for your life; all you need to do is to fit into his plan for your life. God knows the end from the beginning and he lives in eternity, so, he has already walked the path you will go and knows the bumps on the way and wants to help you navigate them.

God has wonderful plans for you today, just like he had for Israel. Although he may not expressly lay out to you every detail of the journey, you can trust him to take you to your destination. Your land flowing with milk and honey is just right ahead if you will trust God’s instructions, follow his lead and travel with him one step at a time. When God becomes your divine director, his instructions become life to you (Prov. 4:22).
