THE HEDGE OF GOD

 Scripture: Job 1:1-10

“Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household…” Job 1:10a (NKJV)

Feedback: Consider the divine benefits of sharing the goodnews.

A hedge is a barrier of protection; a common example is the fence around your house. However, there is a higher hedge more superior to any other. It is the hedge of God. The hedge of God is God’s total and perpetual protective covering over a man’s entire life. This hedge does not just protect your house and physical possessions but also surrounds you, your family and loved ones physically and spiritually.
Every living soul on earth needs God’s hedge because we live here with the devil (Revelations 12:12), and his sole purpose is to wreak havoc (John 10:10a).

Job was a righteous man who feared and revered God deeply every day of His life (Job 1:1, 8). It was for this reason that God blessed him and placed His hedge around him (Job 1:9b-10). The lesson is very clear; the hedge of God is a total package of protection and it requires the price of total submission and obedience to God. This was the reason why God covered Job.

Sin is the only thing that removes the hedge of God. If you shun sin and give God His rightful place in your life, it will automatically invoke the protection of His hedge over you. It will also ensure that you live above all the harassment of the enemy. Commit to consistent fellowship and service to God. Your safety and wellbeing actually depends on it (Proverbs 19:23)

Reflection: Is consistent fellowship with God, my number one priority?

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to live a godly life so that your hedge will surround me always, in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I enjoy peace on every side because God’s Hedge surrounds me always
