LOYAL TO YOUR FAITH

 Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:15-18

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

M any Christians in our present day often give up on people and God during challenging and trying times which actually shows a weakness in their faith and consequently disloyalty to God. It will be folly to give up on your faith when the challenges of life hit and even more dangerous when you start questioning God.

Whenever you see your fellow brethren going through one challenge or another, you should always give them a shoulder to lean on and encourage them as much as possible. This goes a long way to give them a sense of belonging and encourages them that there are people who really care and are praying towards their wellbeing. Onesiphorus was indeed a worthy Christian who stood up for his faith and was never dissuaded by the risk and challenges ahead of him (2 Timothy 1:17). He fought a good fight by holding on to his faith, ignoring the risks he faced until he found Paul and ensured his welfare.

Be your brother’s keeper and do not be in a haste to give up on others. Loyalty to your faith requires that you remain committed to God and to his church. This can only happen when you cultivate a genuine and intimate relationship with God who is your sure refuge in trying times.

PRAYER: Lord, grant me the grace to continually abide in your presence and never to give up on you and any challenged Christian.

FAITH BYTE:  I commit to shaping my character and rendering help to the brethren in need
