THE POWER THE HOLY GHOST
Scripture: Acts 19:1-10
“….Have ye received the
Holy Ghost since ye believed?”
Acts 19:2 (KJV)
It is God’s desire for every Christian that after you get born again, you should receive the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8) The Holy Ghost is the third person in the Godhead. Yes, you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you when you get born again and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost which Jesus spoke about in Acts 1:8 is the essential energizer for witnessing for God with signs and wonders following.
A Christian life will indeed be ordinary without the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Notice what happened to the 12 believers in Acts 19:6. Ordinary men living ordinary lives immediately became tongue talking prophets after they were baptized in the Holy Ghost. God wants us to have extraordinary Christian lives but that cannot happen if we are not filled with the Holy Ghost. Apostle Peter, all fearful and timid in Luke 22:54-62 was in a matter of days transformed into a fiery miracle working preacher in Acts 3 because he was baptized in the Holy Ghost.
As a child of God, you will be doing yourself a disservice if you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you have not received him, you are operating at a level way below where God wants you to be. You need to be vibrant for God, witnessing for him with power that can only come from him. You need to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Are you ready for the baptism now? Desire it and pray to God for it now (Luke 11:13). Follow this up by meeting your pastor to pray with you to receive the Holy Ghost baptism.
PRAYER: Lord, fill me now and fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit so I can be effective witness for you in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: I receive the fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit from my heavenly Father.
