Scripture: Acts 10:1-8
“A devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always”.Acts 10:2 (NKJV)
Devotion to God is a way to fellowship with God. In most Christian homes, parents often insist that the family come together to pray in the mornings and evenings. This was a way of bringing the family together and communing with God as one.
Cornelius was a centurion who was devoted to and feared God but he did not fail to get his family involved (v2). Many have said Christianity is an individual race but it is absolutely necessary for those who are within your household (family, friends, boss, colleagues, classmates and more) to know about God too. Despite his busy schedule as a soldier, strategizing ways to win battles and fortify the city from attacks, the Centurion was devoted to God. With that your busy schedule, you can still be devoted to God and carry your household along.
It is never too late to start. Create the time for God; study the word, use a daily devotional as a tool as the Holy Spirit leads, host a home fellowship where you can invite your friends and colleagues to share God’s word. Begin to take steps towards getting your household to know God and God will continually bless you and cause you to celebrate.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always see ways of getting my household involved in the things of God in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE:
I take bold steps in leading my household in Godly ways.
