Scripture: Genesis 6:13-22
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not yet seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith” Hebrews 11:7 (KJV)
Choosing to obey God always produces positive benefits. It should be the heart desire of every Christian to walk in obedience to God at all times and have faith in him, even in the midst of uncertainty. God’s faithfulness is unceasing when we obey him, (Deut. 7:9) and his protection is sure (Ex. 23:22), therefore, it is necessary to have the kind of faith that leads to obedience and pleases God (Heb. 11:6)
The building of the ark that saved Noah and his family was an accomplishment made possible by faith and obedience. Noah did not need to test God before going into action; God commanded, and he obeyed. Noah is an example of a life of faith, and we see his obedient life demonstrated in his willingness to act in line with God’s instructions regarding the ark without questions. Faith entails trusting and obeying every word of God, believing that God knows the end from the beginning. (Is. 46:10). This kind of faith requires accepting that when God says a thing, it will happen even when it seems impossible to us.
It is a mistake to believe in God and not obey his instructions and directions. We need to exhibit the same kind of obedient faith that saved Noah and his family. A faith that says no matter what, I stand on the word that God has spoken. Does your faith have the characteristics of the faith that saved Noah? Ask God, today, for the grace to build and enhance your faith daily.
PRAYER
